Tub Bathing After Hip Surgery
Whew! My fourth bath since surgery! Of all aspects of post surgery, taking a bath is most exhausting. So much goes into what was so natural and simple.
Now, there's making sure the leg raiser is handy to help bring the leg over the side and into the tub. Ouch! Although the pain has become less excruciating over the past month, it's a challenge.
Then to make sure the water temp is comfortable and the shower hose doesn't fall on me when bringing it down. Thank you hubby for helping me.
Ah! The actual soap and water lather offers such relief. I'll feel human again after my hair and body are washed.
Then applying saline on my incision. The nurse was kind enough to order gauze pads and a spray can of pressurized saline to cleanse the wound. Then drying it. Then myself.
Getting dressed is getting easier, but still tricky. Due to pain, cannot bend down to pull my underwear on. So hubby helps with the wounded leg first, then I take over and get into my night tee and slippers.
I feel human again and feel I can conquer the world! At least my world in its current state of healing!
Onward and forward....
