Have you ever seen a Penumbral Eclipse?

This is a photo of the Penumbral Lunar Eclipse as seen & taken by The Virtual Telescope Project in Rome, Italy. It's affecting the bottom, right side of the moon. Today was my first experience watching a penumbral lunar eclipse which occurs when the Moon moves through the faint, outer part of Earth's shadow. Just beautiful! This type of eclipse is often mistaken for a normal full moon. The experience was made possible by Gianluca Masi, Astrophysicist, of The Virtual Telescope Project http://www.virtualtelescope.eu/webtv/ in Rome, Italy The next Penumbral Lunar Eclipse will occur on November 30, 09:42 UTC. Obviously, not a monthly occurrence.Highly recommend visiting the above website if you'd care to experience Mr. Masi's expert eye and guide of the night sky.
