EXT. FATHER'S DAY FAMILY GATHERING - DAY
After a wrestle with a chew toy, the family's Labrador runs to the patio door to greet arriving relatives.
Aunt Sadie (as she pets him) Hi Rocky!
Rocky greets each family member with equal respect and excitement, offering his paw with each pet.
Glasses clinked and laughter shared. Kids were in the pool squirting each other with water guns.
The sudden aroma of burning meat on the barbecue, entranced Rocky. He sat begging at his owner's feet.
Owner Not now, Rocky!
As he was about to turn to leave, Rocky spotted a steak, so fat and juicy, adjacent to the salads, breads and bottles of beer on the trestle table. Taken over by the mystic and uncontrollable dog urge, he charged toward the table, knocking it over as he snatched the precious cargo.
With his owner on his heels, Rocky displayed his loot proudly around the garden.
OWNER Come back here, Rocky!
The children were cheering; the adults all in a tither. Amidst the chaos, Grandma fell into the pool. Shocked, no one budged.
OWNER Rocky! (pointing to the submerging woman) Rescue Grandma!
Rocky immediately dove into the pool and wrapped his teeth gently around Grandma's dress collar and pulled her up to safety. Everyone ran to her as she gasped for air and gradually returned to normal. Disaster averted!
OWNER Well done, Rocky! This is for you!
He planted a crisp, fat, juicy steak on a plate at his feet.
OWNER Just try to stay out of trouble next time, won't you?
ROCKY (barking) Not a chance!
FADE TO BLACK
